Wild Life Safari
General Information
The Himalayan kingdom of Nepal is endowed with rich and varied biodiversity. Altitudinal variances in short distance give Nepal's biogeography variety that range from lush moist forests and sparse alpine deserts to luxurious grasslands in lowland Terai. The mountainous country also shelters some of the world's most rare animals. Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) National Park and Royal Chitwan National Park with typical natural, cultural and landscapecharacteristics were listed as World Heritage sites in 1974 and 1984, respectively. The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, a wetland of international significance, was declared a Ramsar Site in 1987.

Nepal embarked upon modern era of wildlife conservation with the enactment of the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act in 1973. The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation presently works with a network of 9 National parks, (Bardia, Chitawan, Khaptad, Langtang, Makalu, Barun, Rara, Sagarmatha, Shey Phoksundo), 4 Wildlife Reserves (Koshi Tappu, Parsa, SuklaPhanta, Shivpuri Watershed), 3 Conservation Areas (Annapurna, Kanchanjunga, Manasalu) and one Hunting Reserve (Dhor Patan), including 5 Buffer zones around national parks, covering a total of 27, 345sq. km., or 18.58% of the country's total land.

Wildlife Safari in Nepal:

Nepal is a land of extreme contrasts in climate and geography. It has a unique topography ranging from low lands with sub-tropical jungles to arctic conditions in the Himalayan highlands. Within a mere 150 kilometres, the land rises from near sea level in the south to over 8000 metres in the north. This, together with monsoon rainfall along the south facing slopes, has resulted in compacting virtually all climate zones found on the planet into our country. As a result, Nepal has been endowed with a huge diversity of climatic zones providing a home for a host of plants, birds, and animals. Nepal’s National Park system is designed to preserve this amazing natural heritage.

With Adventure International Trekking and Expeditions, you will have choices of activities/packages for all above mentioned National Parks, wildlife Reserves, and Conservations areas. Please send e-mails with your specific request.
