Know More The most impressive things that I can noticed about Adventure International, all trekkers get maximum flexibility to design portions of the trip to outfit being desires. For example: when I was the only one in my group.
Island peak climbing trip is one of the most popular trekking peak in Nepal. Perhaps the name of peak is so because from Dingboche the peak is seen as an island in a sea of ice. The summit is interesting and attractive with a highly glaciated west face rising from the Lhotse Glacier. The ridge rising to the south from this point leads to the summit of Island Peak. The extension of this ridge descending southwest is the part of the normal route of ascent and leads to the south Summit.
Imja Tse, another name of the Island Peak does not only provide an enjoyable climb but also provides some of the most spectacular scenery of Himalayas in the Khumbu region. View from the summit are Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) make a semi circle in the north. The views of Makalu (8475m) in the east, Baruntse and Amadablam in the south add much more charming bonus in climbing Island Peak (Imja tse).
The normal route:
The base camp of Island Peak lies in Chukung Valley, between Island Peak and the lateral moraine of the Imja Glacier. Proper care should be taken to avoid the possible avalanche in the event of heavy snowfall.
From the base camp, a well-acclimatized party in good conditions can make the summit and return to the base camp in a day. However, most of the climbers prefer alpine style camping at high camp, which adds the joy of climbing and helps a safe ascent. From the base camp the route skirts southeast around and base of Imja Tse and climbs steep grassy slopes and small rocky steps. We scramble up on open gully which leads between two ridges to the site of high camp on at 5,280m. From the high camp, the lefts hand ridge scramble across the broad open gully. After crossing a gully a steep snow and ice ramp leads upward for nearly 100 meters to the summit ridge. Climbing near the summit is a little difficult due to steep climbing.

Island Peak climbing
Enter on a fantastic exploration with Island Peak climbing and trekking that takes you into the heartland of the Khumbu, Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft). Island Peak (6,189m/20,305ft) is one of the main climbing peaks in Everest Region with an inspiring and highly glaciated West Face that rises from the Lhotse Glacier. An ascent of Kala Pattar (5,545m/18,192ft), proves a good acclimatization hike and gives you glorious close-up views of the world's highest mountains including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu and ascending one of the most popular peaks in the Everest region.
The mountain was named "Island Peak" in 1952 AD due to its remarkable location in the middle of the Chhukung valley, like an Island on a sea of ice. It was renamed "Imja Tse" in the early '80s, though its original name is still more popular. From the Base Camp, it may take two or more days to scale the peak depending on weather condition. Experience tells us that it is better to spend two nights at the base camp for acclimatization and training and then attempt the Island summit (6,189m/20,305ft) in one push directly from the Base Camp. The journey begins from and comes to wrapping up at one of the most famous airstrip in the world, the Lukla Airport in the Everest Region.
The 20-day Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary is actually designed for adventurers in quest of a challenging and "off the beaten path" climbing plus trekking experience crosses some of the most famous religious villages & peaks in the world. If you are energetic, physically fit. However, if you wish to climb one of most famous mountains in the world in just two weeks, we highly recommend you to try our 14-day Island Peak express Climbing itinerary. Acclimatization
Our Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary is planned with a high degree of awareness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Going higher too fast causes a medical condition serious enough to kill. The higher the altitude the less oxygen there is in the air. For example, on the high camp & at summit, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Your body needs many days to adapt to this less-oxygen environment. Our itineraries generally allow sufficient time to acclimatize. So for a safe trek and climb, it is absolutely essential to allow sufficient time for acclimatization. Sensible planning is therefore required to minimize the risk of AMS. We advise specially the guest(s) with known heart, lungs or blood diseases to consult their doctor before traveling. Mild headaches, fever, loss of appetite or stomach disorder are symptoms of AMS.
Leader(s) & Staff Arrangements
The most significant thing that makes your Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp trek Trip successful, enjoyable and memorable is the expert, experienced, courteous and helpful trek and climb leader and the crew members who have ability of operating your days in the mountain smoothly. Your trip will be led by the best and most professional leaders. All of our trekking/climbing leaders are carefully selected on the basis of their appropriate experience, leadership skills and personal aptitude. With an objective of sustaining local communities Adventure International Trekking employs Nepalese staffs who have plenty of knowledgeable about culture, flora and fauna, geography, and history of Nepal. Trek/climb leaders of AIT are also trained with following trainings to make them educated on potential medical issues during their trek, biodiversity and environmental issues, English language, etc:
Our Trekking and climbing Leaders obviously speak English sufficient enough to communicate but please consider this is not our mother language. The guides and porters know the routes and locality like the back of their hand, they practice the local culture themselves and they are extremely passionate about their country and its cultural aspects.
Porter Care:
Though often overlooked, it's no overstatement to say the entire trekking and expedition industry in Nepal is built on the back of hard working local porters. It is their tireless efforts carrying supplies, equipment and baggage that make journeying to these remote areas possible. So it's very unfortunate that they have endured a history of exploitation and abuse at the hands of the industry. In an effort to struggle this, we are firmly committed to porter rights. We ensure all our porters are well treated, well paid and we provide the level of shelter, clothing and footwear that these harsh environments demand. Porters who become sick are treated with the same care and attention as other team members and we have previously used helicopters - at our expense - to rescue porters from dangerous situations. We support the work of the International Porter Protection Group (IPPG), making our resources available to them to help improve the working conditions of the porters. (International Porters Progress Group)
Responsible Tourism Practice:
Himalayan Region of Nepal is stunningly beautiful, but equally fragile. Future generations have just as much of right to appreciate it as we do. So, the tourism industry has an obligation to protect and preserve it. We employ a 'zero impact' policy on the natural environment
